Brittany Callihan

Brittany  has been a dental assistant for over 5 years, and absolutely loves what she does! She says the most rewarding thing about being an assistant is seeing the look on the patients’ faces after they see their new, beautiful smile. Brittany was born and raised in the Houston area where she met the love of her life, Corey. They have  a daughter, Kaylee, who they adore!

Cynthia Becerra

Cynthia’s love for people brought her into the field of dentistry. She understands the impact good healthcare providers can have on a person. She loves dental assisting and is planning on taking dental hygiene prerequisite courses at Lone Star College to further her career. She is very close with her family. During her free time, she and her long term boyfriend, Kevin, enjoy spoiling their two Beagle puppies, playing softball, trying new recipes, and traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.

Kristin attended Houston Dental Assistant School and graduated in 2008. After graduation, she worked for a Periodontist (gum specialist) for 2 1/2 years and then moved into the field of general dentistry where she uses her gifts of making patient’s feel more at ease every day. She started working here at Texas Star Dental in 2013 and says that one of her passions is “making a patient feel as comfortable as possible.” Kristin is a very open minded and easy going person, and anyone will tell you she is a true kid at heart. She is responsible for 90% of the practical jokes at the office! Another passion of hers is taking pictures and creating scrapbooks, so she can forever cherish all the memories made with family and friends!

Jake is our high school intern. He is gaining experience in the medical field because he one day hopes to go on to dental school and eventually become an oral maxillofacial surgeon! If you happen to see him in our office, give him a word of encouragement because he is the only male in our office and has to put up with a bunch of women all day long! We are so proud of him because he continues to grow and gain experience – we know he will be successful no matter what he does after graduation!

Kelsey McCoy

Kelsey is the treatment coordinator for Texas Star Dental. She started out working as registered dental assistant in 2012 and then transitioned over to the front office where she uses her clinical assisting knowledge to enhance the business side of our practice. When Kelsey is not working, she is spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters either swimming, working out, watching movies or planning family vacations.

Kittra is first and foremost a wife to her husband Bob and a mother to her three amazing boys. She started in the dental field in 1986 as a dental assistant in Pennsylvania and practiced there for many years before her family relocated to Texas. She continued practicing here and gained an extensive knowledge in both the clinical aspect as well as the business of dentistry. Shortly after moving here, she joined Dr. Austin as her Office Manager. She believes teamwork is essential for creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere and, as she puts it, “Coming to work is fun, can you believe it?” When she is not working, she can be found at her children’s football fields or at her pool. She says she blesses God every chance she gets and her lungs expand with His praise. “Rescue belongs to those who call in the Lord.” – Psalm 34:1

Virginia’s passion for Dentistry began in 2008. She attended Lonestar College and received her certificate in Dental Assisting. Her skills and experience grew over the years and she transitioned over into the front office. She enjoys educating patients on good oral health and explaining the importance of dental treatment. If you have any insurance questions she can also explain and help maximize your benefits. She is currently taking additional college classes part-time and is pursuing a degree in Biology. She hopes to apply to dental school in a couple of years! On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and fur baby May. We are so proud of Virginia and are blessed to have her as part of our team!
